"Suzanne" by Leonard Cohen

$1,970.00

Kodak disposable camera photo stretched on vinyl sheet, ringlet holes on each corner. Photo of Suzanne Paris (1970-2018) taken by Buzz Pearson (1956-2017) in 2007 on an Arizona highway. Their kid Paris Alexander found the camera in Suzanne’s home after her passing in 2018, and developed the expired film in 2022.

This enlarged image was made in Sept. 2023 during the Access. Movement. Play. Residency at Movement Research. A residency centered around artists with disability- although I was given the residency- I felt like it was more important to shine a light on my mom, who was an artist that lived with severe crohn's and ulcerative colitis- which I believe was a big reason why she was not able to fulfill her artistic dreams.
